Control
System Case Study
An
existing customer decided to expand their audio-visual
system, we had installed the existing system so
expandability was factored in originally, this made
the task more straightforward. The existing system
consisted of 8 plasma screens and two projectors
all with local sound. The new system was expanded
to 14 plasma displays, two projectors and a rear
projection system. The control equipment now consists
of a 16x16 video and audio matrix, a 12x2 video
and audio matrix, two scan converters and a picture
in picture processor.
We
took the opportunity to offer a web based control
system to integrate the increasing range of equipment.
The system has recently gone live and is receiving
a great response.
Because
we opted to design and build the software based
control system in house, we were able to keep costs
low and also retain absolute control over every
aspect of it, this has allowed us to completely
tailor the web interface to the needs of the client.
A
control website was built from scratch, allowing
control over all the plasma displays, the two projectors
and the rear projection screen. The website is also
easily updated to cope with any changes in equipment
or circumstances.
